Tuelo
Singer-songwriter
Tuelo Minah is a South African singer and songwriter who blurs the lines between punk, soul, and rock. Drawing inspiration from the great traditions of South African protest music and the polyrhythms and tonalities of her native Tswana and Khoikhoi tribes, Tuelo’s sound is triumphant, bursting with fantasy, big drums, heavy guitars, and her powerful, wailing voice. Afropunk has called witnessing her performances “an inspiring and spiritual experience.” Her debut single, "Saint Margaret," premiered on Consequence of Sound, and her first studio album, The Life of Margaret Cornelius, which Guitar Girl Magazine called “mystical, soulful and sometimes haunting,” was released on February 11, 2022.
