Maya Forbes is a screenwriter and television producer from Cambridge, Massachusetts. Forbes co-wrote the screenplay for the 2008 comedy film The Rocker with Wallace Wolodarsky, and she was also an executive producer of the sitcom The Naked Truth. She was a writer and co-executive producer for The Larry Sanders Show, receiving multiple Emmy and WGA Award nominations for her work with the show. Forbes made her directorial debut with Infinitely Polar Bear, a comedy-drama that premiered at the 30th Sundance Film Festival in 2014 and was released by Sony Pictures Classics in 2015. China Forbes is the lead singer of the internationally acclaimed band Pink Martini. Many of her songs can be heard on television and in film. She sang the theme song to the TV show Clueless as well as “Qué Será Será” over the opening and closing credits of Jane Campion’s film In the Cut. As the lead vocalist of Pink Martini, China has performed songs in over 12 languages in venues from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl to the Grand Rex in Paris.
